Ecobumz diapers are meant to be simple to care for. They are virtually indestructible and we welcome you to try a fewdifferent methods until you find one that works for you.
Laundering:
Wash your ecobumz Diapers on Hot or cold and tumble dry.
Avoid chlorine bleach and fabric softener.
Fore our bamboo diapers, you may choose to prep your diapers by washing them a couple of times to maximize absorbency.
Bamboo will reach its peak absorbency after about 5 washes, however they are very reliable even after the first wash!
What detergent should I use?
The bottom line is, what ever works for you and your baby, the only items not recommended are bleach and fabric softener.
Storage:
We recommend a “Dry pail” method which means storing your diapers in an air tight container or a launderable drawstring wet bag. Soiled diapers can be stored for up to 4 days prior to washing.
What do I do with the poop?
Although this is the most unpleasant part of cloth diapering it is also the easiest to handle. Our recommendation is the use of a little sheet called a flushable diaper liner, also known as a rice paper liner. These diaper liners are flushable and biodegradable. When changing your child simply place the liner on top of the inner layer so it becomes a barrier between your baby and the inside of the diaper. Fasten diaper as usual. When the diaper is soiled, grab the liner at opposite corners and flush the liner and the solid matter away.

If you decide not to use a liner, simply flip the diaper over the toilet and shake off the solids to the best of your ability. You may also choose to invest in a diaper sprayer which attached directly to your toilet and can be used to spray off solids prior to adding them to your pail or wet bag.
Tips and tricks…
When washing your ecobumz, fasten the tabs inside out. Doing this will expose the core of the diaper the most during cleaning and also help you to avoid the dreaded “diaper chain”. A diaper chain is when the hook and loop of the diapers stick together after being put through the washer and dryer.
To speed drying time, add a dry towel in with your diapers.
